Extending our home
We're finally ready to press go on the extension! We bought the house with the aim of putting an extension on the back of the house to improve the kitchen and dining space. However, all the time and money spent on decorating the rest of the house and sorting out the garden put this on the back burner for a while.
But now and after selling a car, foregoing a summer holiday, doing a load of car boot sales and selling things on eBay and me doing my utmost to stay away from ASOS we have just enough saved (credit card will be helping us out a bit...) to get going.
We deliberated about going down the architect route but in the end our budget just wasn't going to stretch. Cue hours spent outside looking at where existing waste and drainage pipes were running, marking the floor with chalk, trying to visualise a new space and figuring out if building out to the side would answer our kitchen problems.
A reminder of those kitchen problems...
So we had chalk lines outside and numerous bits of paper with drawings and plans on but they were making no sense so the Mr. got serious and found some software that he could use to visualise our plans in 3-D. It's called Sketch Up and it's fiddly but brilliant! Here are our almost final plans...
